Magician's Apprentice is an Archero-style action game with some RPG gameplay, in which you can don the hat of a magician's apprentice and defeat almost endless hordes of enemies. Your mission: to keep the Dark Lord from returning.
Magician's Apprentice's controls are almost the exact same as the aforementioned Archero and similar titles. Just use the virtual joystick on the bottom of the screen to move your character. If you lift your finger off the screen, your character will attack the nearest enemy. This means you have to strike a balance between moving to dodge enemies and staying still to attack.
Players start Magician's Apprentice with only very basic weapons, spells, and armor. But, as you keep playing, win money, and earn experience, you can unlock all kinds of spells and weapons. During games, you can also use all kinds of bonuses and powerups that will (hopefully) help you defeat your enemies.
But one of this game's best features is all the upgrades you can unlock for your apprentice. By default, he casts normal spells in a straight line. But as you get upgrades, you can cast spells in various directions, cast fire or ice spells, speed up your spells, and much, much more.
Magician's Apprentice is a fantastic Archero-style action game, with great graphics, a wide variety of enemies, and simply loads of levels. It's an outstanding title, that can even be played with one hand in portrait rotation.
